Tasks
Tasks turn email into work you can track. Here's how to create tasks, attach emails to them, use star priorities, and what the snooze limit does.
Creating tasks
- Press T (or click Tasks in the header) to open the Tasks view.
- K turns the open email into a task and archives the email.
- Drag one or more emails onto the Tasks tab in the header to create tasks from them.
- Right-click an email and choose "Attach email to task" to link it to an existing task. A task can hold several emails; each shows as "Email attached: <subject>" in the task, and removing one offers an Undo.
Pro Tip: press K instead of leaving a to-do sitting in the Inbox — it captures the work and clears the email in one keystroke.
Priority and ordering
Tasks use a 0–5 star priority. Stars drive ordering, and the header shows a count of today's 4- and 5-star tasks.
Unfinished tasks roll over to the next day automatically.
Pro Tip: reserve 4 and 5 stars for today's real priorities. The header count only tracks those, so it stays a true signal of what is left.
Task labels
The Tasks table has a Label column just before Complete?. Each task can carry one task label: click the coloured pill to change it, or the light gray + to add one. The picker lets you type a new label name, pick one of twelve colours, choose an existing label, rename or recolour a label, or delete it — deleting a label leaves the tasks untouched and they simply show the + again. Use the caret at the top of the Label column to choose which labels the table shows; that filter resets to all labels each time you open Tasks. Task labels are separate from email labels.
The task window
In the task window the Delete and Save & Close buttons stay pinned to the bottom edge while you scroll through long notes, so they are always visible and one click away.
Paste a picture into task Notes, then click or hover over it to show corner handles. Drag a corner to make it larger or smaller while keeping its proportions and fitting the notes area. Save & Close keeps the chosen size when you reopen the task. Resizing retains the original picture data without recompressing it; enlarging a small original cannot add missing detail.
Reading List
The Reading List tab in Tasks stores links you want to read later. Paste a link into the box at the top and press Enter (paste several at once, one per line) and WonderMail fetches the page title for you; double-click a title to rename it. Long titles are shortened to 45 characters. Each link takes a 0–5 star priority and the same task labels used by the task list. Clicking a title opens the page in a separate window. Tick Done when you have read it and the link is hidden — use “Show read” to bring read links back or untick them. Sort the list by Date Added, Priority or Label. There is no snooze on the Reading List.
Snooze limit
Settings → Tasks holds the Snooze Limit (default 3) and "Snooze Limit applies to". When a task is snoozed more times than the limit, it moves to the Future task box — unless its stars are above the level you selected, in which case it snoozes normally. When exactly one snooze remains, the task shows an amber "1 snooze left" pill beside its snooze count and the snooze button tip reads "last snooze available". Tasks exempt from the limit never show it.
