Your Data, Privacy and Security
Here's what WonderMail stores, how to export or delete it, and the security measures protecting your mail.
Your data controls
Settings → General → Your Data holds two controls that cover every connected account at once.
- Export downloads everything WonderMail stores for you (messages, threads, labels, tasks, rules and settings across all accounts) as a JSON file, and lets you choose where to save it.
- Delete permanently erases your WonderMail account and all synced data across all connected accounts. It asks you to confirm twice, including typing a confirmation phrase, because it cannot be undone. Deleting your WonderMail account never deletes mail at Gmail, Outlook or your IMAP host.
Pro Tip: export before any big clean-up. The JSON file is a complete copy of your WonderMail data, so a bulk rule or mass delete is never a one-way door.
Security
For security, WonderMail signs you out automatically after 7 days without activity; you will see "Signed out after 7 days of inactivity." on the sign-in screen.
Your mail is synced to WonderMail's servers so that search, snooze, undo send and cross-device state are instant. It is protected by encryption at rest, per-user row-level access controls, and provider credentials that never reach the browser.
No one else — including WonderMail administrators — can read your mail, tasks, contacts or settings without your permission. If an administrator needs to look at your account to help you, their request appears in Settings → Accounts, and nothing is shared unless you allow it. Approvals last 72 hours and you can revoke them at any time.
If a screen ever stops working, you will see an error number and a Reload button instead of a blank page — press Enter or choose Reload to continue. Reloading usually fixes it, and anything you were typing is saved in Drafts.
